POWERLIFTING GOLD-MEDAL WINNER
Bill Sindelar in 2011
Bill Sindelar of rural Howells, feedlot owner and manager
discovered powerlifting several years ago and in 2011 won his first
gold medal at the IPF World Masters Powerlifting Championships in
Ontario, Canada. Now about 245 pounds with broad shoulders and a
thick chest, Sindelar had the best overall total in the squat, bench
press and dead lift. He set American age-group records (Bill is 60)
in the deadlift (568 pounds) and for his total (1,554 pounds). He
lifted 556 pounds in the squat and benched 430 pounds.
HOWELLS native qualifies
for the USA world team and international competition.

| BRAD VERING, home town
boy raised in Howells, Nebraska. Brad is the 2004 & 2008 Summer
Olympian for USA in Greco Roman Wrestling. Competes at 84kg or
