Howells was a great place for the Quasquicentennail Celebration on Friday, June 1, Saturday, June 2, and Sunday, June 3, 2012

HOWELLS THANK - YOU
Where do we begin ... to thank this entire community for their support and assistance, not only during the Q125 Celebration weekend, but during the past 2 - 1/2 years of planning and fundraising.

Where do we begin ... to acknowledge the sacrifice by so many who worked so hard. We think especially of Terri Belina, Donna Brester and Scot Lerch who during the entire weekend never left that lunch stand, and who along with their many shifts of volunteers, provided all our guests with great and untiring service and still smiled at us while doing it!

Where do we begin ... to thank Lyn, Michael, Gerald, and Dawn for their dedicated services to the Q! Your many hours of prep work made so many things run so much easier for us. Where do we begin ... to thank those who magically appeared early in the morning to pick up our mess... the 4-H clubs, the Boy Scouts and the Howells Youth Ball Teams who with their leaders and parents were there to get even the tiniest trash. And all those people who just showed up to take care of anything we needed. We can't even count how many times someone said, "Point me at something I can do!" Where do we begin ... to thank those many committee heads who took over their event and ran with it, finding their own volunteers, and making a success of it all.  Where do we begin ... to thank those many volunteers who did not say "No" when we called, and to the many, many who worked not only one event, not only one shift, but continued to volunteer for more and more, (even if they had family home to visit, even if standing for 3 hours was not easy, even if they had other things they would rather do!).  Where do we begin...to thank those who cleaned up, planted flowers and polished this community to show all our guests and visitors what a welcome place Howells is. Thanks to all those who used their talents for their community, whether it be baking pies, painting bar quilts and murals, lending their skills in building, leadership and organizing, using their musical and dancing gifts to entertain, photography or praying for good weather... you all came through for your community.  Thanks to our spouses who spent 2-1/2 years working along side of us, supporting us all the way and not complaining (too much) about another cold sandwich or frozen pizza ... who turned a team of 8 into a team of 16 (not counting the kids who were also along for the ride).  And what a ride it was.. Wow!  What a weekend! Where do we begin... to tell you how PROUD we are of this community and its people?  THANK YOU, HOWELLS, FOR THE MEMORIES!   Proud to be Your "Team Q"
